Grammar police say you should have said "don't feel so bad". To feel badly insinuates that the recipient of this text has issues with nerve endings in his or her fingertips.
The grammar on this website is painful. You should NOT say "feel badly." Badly is an adverb, modifying the verb. In this instance, "feel" is used as a linking verb. Ergo, to "feel bad" indicates a feeling of guilt or shame; "to feel badly" means the body's ability to perceive is malfunctioning.
