I've been with my bf for almost 4 years and I've made an effort to keep my weight the same (I'd say my weight but you'd all tell me I'm anorexic) but he has definitely let himself go. But I really don't care. Being a good bf and person is a much better thing than a jerk with a 6 pack. If this text is from a boyfriend who wants her to lose weight then he should have just suggested going on a run or a hike together.

a little weight gain can be expected on both ends. However if you almost double in weight or if you act like a damn slob that is unacceptable. My body isn't as tight and toned as it was in college when I played baseball, but I don't have excess fat taking residence on stomach
...I don't know about other girls but I start to feel gross if I put on extra weight, especially around my waste. So I think feeling good and healthy is motivation enough for women to stay in shape.
