A group of frat boys once walked by my friend who was playing chess and listening to music on his laptop downtown and said, "Why does a homeless guy have a laptop?" He, in fact, had a house, and a job. For one: laptops and phones are a lot cheaper than houses, two: I hate it when people assume a guy is homeless just because he has a beard and doesn't wear designer clothes.
I have friends that are lower level executives that beg outside baseball games, then use the money for their beer that night at the game, he has seasons tickets.
how do you know his family didn't give it to him so they can stay in touch. But yeah i used to always give cigs to the homeless guy at the work, until one day he asked i said "i don't even have any cigs right now" to which he pulled out a full pack and offered me one O_o!!
