• I think you'll find he means he woke up on a raft in a bath that had been full of beer bottles and ice, and now was full of meltwater and some remaining bottles. We often put a raft in our beer-bath so that it can be full of useful things like bags of snacks and bottle openers. Never had anyone get in the raft, but I can imagine if you're drunk enough... or too hot.... I can see it happening.
