    • Actually, the period _is_ ending a sentence there——note the capital letter in the next word. OP appears to be one of those people who uses periods for emphasis. Different kind of stupid.

    • Actually it's not stupid. The OP putting a period after the abbreviation is the correct way to do it; everyone should put periods after their abbreviations. And I'm sure they meant it to be one whole sentence, but if you push the space bar too many times on a Blackberry, it puts a period after the last word you typed and starts the next sentence automatically. It's probably like that on lots of phones these days.
