Theory: once in awhile, both of a baby's parents stick around. and it says "all weekend" not "every weekend" or "all the time" maybe, just MAYBE this was a bad weekend, or a birthday weekend. or someone who's niece/nephew/friend with a kid lives in the same house. all you high-and-mighty people could perhaps climb off your soapboxes and consider other situations.

You guys are even assuming the baby is so young that it would be waking up all night. What if the other parent is there, the baby is 18 months old, and the OP is just trying to blow off some steam on a weekend?
