  • I submitted this to Mythbusters. I hope to God that they try it, prove it, and thusly start a wave of intoxication-via-humidifier popularity.

  • Do a test for me. Light up a cig while it is on and let me know what happens.

  • Actually, that would work. you inhale alcohol vapor and it'll go straight to the blood stream. Of course it's not slowed down by the digestive system so it's much easier to kill yourself with alcohol poisoning

  • I am so going to try this. HANG ON, DARWIN! I'll be joining you shortly...

  • Pretty sure this was on a CSI NY when they had liquor coming down onto people in a club in the form of vapor

  • You're an idiot.

  • This would not cause a fire as the alcohol is not under pressure. And ethyl alcohol boils at about 173 degrees, where water needs 212 so the alcohol would atomize first. Trust a career bartender when it comes to methods of intoxication.

    • Alcohol doesn't need to be under pressure to be flammable. Just above 80 proof.

  • This could work. I remember readin bout a bar in England that puts alcohol in the air, the place is like walking inside of a giant gin an tonic. You do have to wear a slicker suit tho, otherwise your clothes smell like gin too.

  • This sounds awesome in theory ... but wouldn't the heat evaporate the alcohol before the water gets atomized???

  • That's incredibly dumb. Not only are you at risk for general alcohol poisoning bc you decided to hook up an IV of EVERCLEAR of all things, let's also hope no one in the vicinity gets a craving for a cigarette.

  • Smlpl-- you're correct. That was one of the more recent episodes.
