SkinnerOne and Yfz501: When you start being afraid to tell people you're straight because it may cost you your friends or family or job or life you can talk about choices and when you're willing to settle for civil unions you can talk about them.
people will live a life in persecution and pain just to be a martyr...makes them feel important...civil union is ok but marriage is a religious thing...if they wanna take half their partners shit when the break up get a civil union not a marriage...have a party even who care but marriage is between a man and a woman
Who are you to decide their religious beliefs? There are plenty of religions that believe performing marriages for same sex couples is completely fine. Be open minded. There are other definitions of marriage and religion out there. It isn't your right to decide them for everyone else.
Side note: from the Ontario area code, this is in Canada, where Marriages can be either civil or religious, and have been gender-neutral since 2003. So based off of that, it legally is a Marriage, which is a civil thing, or religious if they're part of a denomination that accepts homosexuality.\ni.e. US socio-political issues are not identical to, or often even shared with, all other nations in the world.

They don't want same sex marriage because homosexuals are awesome? That's your logic? You're wrong, dude. There's no choice involved whatsoever. If you really think ANYONE would choose to live a life of persecution and pain, you're tripping.
"Since sexual orientation is such a complex trait, we're never going to find any one gene that determines whether someone is g a y or not," says Mustanski. "It's going to be a combination of various genes acting together as well as possibly interacting with environmental influences." researcher Brian Mustanski, PhD, a psychologist at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Like he says, there isn't 1 specific g a y gene.
Also clarknova76, you cant decide your heterosexuality at a specific age because thats the natural animalistic instinct is to be hetersexual because it creates new life, and that can be traced back all the way to the beginnings of life.
