Dumbass. Peroxide kills healthy tissue. Use the pocketknife, get it over with and drink up! Maybe it's just that I'm an ER nurse, but I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess that alcohol played a role in your need for sutures in the first place?
I'm not a nurse, but I've taken out plenty of my own stitches and agree, OP has about 13 items more than he/she needs...Get either a small knife or scissors and some tweezers...done.
If they're ready to be removed you should be fine with fingernail clippers, tweezers, and some rubbing alcohol to sterilize. It shouldn't hurt so much that you need the beers, unless you're a wuss.
I've always taken out my own stitches but this was from a pretty sloppy circular saw incident and I had to see my surgeon again after, so I let that hoe take em out for me. The ones she forgot where burried underneath all the tissue so I had to dig them out with a knife to expose the knots. It was simple after that
First of all, no one cares about your credentials here, even if they are true. Secondly, peroxide kills healthy bacteria but so does anything else you would clean a wound with, because it kills the bad bacteria too. It can't pick. They are better off cleaning it after using dirty utensils. Last thing, you're plucking threads out of a healed wound not doing surgery, get some tweezers or small scissors and drink after.
