Eating my shrimp pasta on the porch with a 40, wearing a Hawaiian shirt, proclaiming "I GOT SCRIMPS." I just jumped the shark of college.

If you say "an Hawaiian," "an historic," or anything else like that, you're probably an hasshole.
Don't correct grammar incorrectly please
However "an honest person" is correct.
"a" before consonants... "an" before vowels... The person who improperly corrected is the biggest dumbass of all!
Actually, the rule requires "an" before words with a vowel SOUND, which is why we say "an honest" and "a Hawaiian."
*an Hawaiian shirt
I can't speak for everyone else, but I don't say "an" Hawaiian anything. Doesn't sound right.
might not sound right, but it IS correct.
