You know, it's funny...when people believed in God more often, there was less crime, marriages stayed together more often, etc. don't hate on someone else's beliefs
Who says marriage is intrinsically good? Why is marriage considered the end-all-be-all for human relationships? And since when are millions of murders not considered crimes? Christians have a lot to answer for, and it's sad that people can't figure out how to live a good life without their imaginary, watchful big-brother-figure in the sky.
The saddest part is when people can't keep their religious beliefs to themselves and constantly feel the need to belittle others over their own. Honestly...who gives a shit?
So why do less people believe in God now? Why is decreasing religious belief directly related to increasing education, increasing economic well-being, increasing IQ, etc? Seems a bit odd that as people get smarter and more economically comfortably they just happen to believe in religion less, huh?
What study proved this? Cause I just read one for my psych class about how regular attendees of church gave lower instances of mental illness and addicts who begin to attend have a much lower rate of relapse. It's be interesting to compare both studies.
I'd like to refer you to the Dark Ages, when Christianity ran rampant. But even if religion has some benefits for mankind, that doesn't make it true. Wouldn't a system of ethics and morality completely separate from religion be vastly preferable?
Kevin201 you are really confused here. I'm not sure when you are referring to but the US crime rate has gone down steadily over the last 15 years and is now the lowest compared to population. Also marriages stayed together because women had less options to leave in the past.
