As a cat owner, just let the cat puke. Trust me, it's less of a headache to find and clean later
I always move mine, mid vomit or best case right before vomit, from the area rugs to the hard wood floors.
The panicked oh-shit-grab-her run to the nearest tile or linoleum happened too often for my comfort.
Do not trust a cat. Ever.
