  • i tip bartenders in sacajawea dollars and they always look at me like "wtf am i gonna do with a sacajawea dollar?"

Submitted by Anonymous on Jul 27, 09 at 2:20pm
  • haha, wonder why they wouldn't take your coins. money is money.

Submitted by Anonymous on Jul 27, 09 at 1:45pm
  • That's legal tender, they're stupid not to take it. You win for getting free drinks!

Submitted by Anonymous on Jul 27, 09 at 1:52pm
  • Try Susan B Anthonys next time

Submitted by Anonymous on Jul 27, 09 at 1:33pm
  • Fuck the three of you begging-assed bartenders. Shut your hole and know your role, you're a fucking servant. I'll tip you when you chop-chop and make with the drinks minus the shitty attitude. Get a job, bums.

Submitted by Anonymous on Jul 27, 09 at 5:29pm
  • carry around about 40-50 sacajaweas in a velvet sack, and tie it to your belt

Submitted by Anonymous on Jul 27, 09 at 2:00pm
  • That is really stupid of the bar. Sacajawea dollars are REAL dollars. Legal tender that the government has wanted to get into circulation for years. In fact... Sacajawea dollars are worth more than a regular old dollar bill. Way to not helpout the economy and accept legal tender bar, fail. However, one time my friend tried to pay with a Chuck E Cheese token because he didn't know what it was... THAT was funny.

Submitted by Anonymous on Jul 27, 09 at 11:23pm
  • yeah counting out 30 coins is really fucking difficult

Submitted by Anonymous on Jul 27, 09 at 3:34pm
  • Sounds like a free bar tab to me. I might have to try that.

Submitted by Anonymous on Jul 27, 09 at 1:39pm
  • How did this make it on here?

Submitted by Anonymous on Jul 27, 09 at 1:35pm
  • Someone please google the concept of "legal tender." It may be used to settle ALL debts, public or private. The bartender was stupid for losing money over this.

Submitted by Anonymous on Jul 28, 09 at 4:03am
  • My brother manages a bar and he will take coins for single drink purchases but not for a running tab. But there is a sign in the bar that cash/credit only. When people try shit like that he simply points to the sign and sends them out

Submitted by Anonymous on Jul 27, 09 at 8:43pm
  • gotta love Denver folks

Submitted by Anonymous on Jul 27, 09 at 7:27pm
  • you people do realize that half of these texts have to do with weird things people do when they are drunk and hardly know any better? lighten up. its funny.

Submitted by Anonymous on Jul 27, 09 at 3:06pm
  • i dont think a bunch of "cheap ass jews" would turn down money...if anything they'd be the most likely to take it.

Submitted by Anonymous on Jul 27, 09 at 2:09pm
  • awesome so much win. nothing beats getting kicked out and free beer.

Submitted by Anonymous on Jul 28, 09 at 12:05am
  • this made me laugh ahhahaha

Submitted by Anonymous on Jul 27, 09 at 1:42pm
  • Its not just Denver, NJT terminals and in NYC Subways you only get change in dollar coins (if totaling over 99 cents, obviously). I hate paying with them but If I put a $20 bill into a subway terminal for 1 round trip I have tons of extras that I'm not just going to throw away.

Submitted by Anonymous on Jul 28, 09 at 12:43pm
  • 1:10 in Boston the T only gives change in dollar coins too

Submitted by Anonymous on Jul 28, 09 at 4:23am
  • I'd be really confused if he just points at that sign, as I wasn't trying to pay with a check, or beads or something...Those are cash. Cold, hard cash. That being said, yay free drinks. I'd like to know the bar so I CAN go there!

Submitted by Anonymous on Jul 27, 09 at 10:44pm
  • it's not illegal to deny money from someone in a store/bar/etc. service can be refused to anyone for a multitude of reasons. if they (stupidly or not) think it's not real money, they certainly don't have to take it. a business doesn't have to MAKE anyone pay for those services. that being said - not illegal. stores in the same right don't have to take the money and can ask for another form of payment. that's perfectly legal to do so. take some law classes before you talk about something you don't know

Submitted by Anonymous on Jul 27, 09 at 4:32pm
  • martin van buren ones work every time. it's legal tender. you can even use them in vending machines.

Submitted by Anonymous on Jul 27, 09 at 3:03pm

  • yeah this wouldn't have happened anywhere

Submitted by Anonymous on Jul 27, 09 at 2:00pm

Submitted by Anonymous on Jul 27, 09 at 6:43pm
  • in retail we have the right to deny people paying in ALL penny's. if it's rolled it's a different story. but money isn't money when you have the chance of getting screwed over

Submitted by Anonymous on Jul 27, 09 at 3:34pm
  • the government sends sacajawea dollar coins down to south america for nothing in exchange because so few people want them up here- talk about wasting money
