  • Haha I fucking love degrassi with allllllll the drama nd hooking up

Submitted by Anonymous on Jan 24, 10 at 12:32pm
  • Actually no, 5:15, you can hear 'oot' and 'eh?' all over Canada. You tend to hear it more as you go east. Not so much an Alberta/BC thing.

    • "Eh?" is genuinely common, but I live in Ontario, and I've never heard "aboot" except as a South Park quote.

    • Pretty sure the only people that talk like that are midwesterners like from the movie Fargo. I know I sound a lot like someone from Washington because the only time people I meet in Seattle can tell I'm from Canada is when I tell them.

  • I'm from Canada and I've never heard anyone say aboot or pronounce anything oot for that matter but I have caught my self saying eh a couple times I just really want to point out even tho I know it's irelevant but Americans say ruff instead of roof and it's possibly the most agrivating thing sorry I just thought I should let you know so you can work on that

  • If you've ever watched the show you'd know that Canadians don't say "oot." Maybe in the Maritimes, which is clearly not where the show takes place but thanks for coming out.

  • 10:29, you have missed the point completely.

Submitted by Anonymous on Jan 24, 10 at 10:53am
    • Nope, 10:53. I'm pretty sure the "oot" was one of the best part of the texts. In case you somehow missed it, Canadians pronounce "about" and "out" differently than most Americans. Therefore, what many Americans hear is "aboot" and "oot." Hence, amusing.

      Submitted by SuperTrooper127 on Jan 24, 10 at 4:48pm
      • Actually, the only people who pronounce the word "about" as "aboot" are from certain parts of Alberta/BC and Americans from northern Wisconsin/Minnesota.

  • K so I am Canadian and have never heard anyone say "oot" or "aboot" unless we are making fun of ourselves or confusing Americans, which is pretty easy to do :)
