      • the store is spelled wal-mart because Sam WALton was the man who started the chain. Not because they wanted to be cheeky and misspell. I don't recall being British as an acceptable criteria to misuse words. Unless of course you were referring to:\n\nSpelt–noun\na wheat, Triticum aestivum spelta, native to southern Europe and western Asia, used chiefly for livestock feed.
