ACT/SAT scores don't matter in the real world. What matters is being able to apply and disseminate your knowledge to others. What's going to happen when she goes to college and doesn't have 10am celery and carrot snack time with mommy?
All I know is, homeschooled chicks, due to their lack of socialization, are much more open about the fact that they want sex just as much as dudes do. \n\nThat's one lesson I wish every girl would learn. "Sex is good, and you should have it as often as possible."
I was homeschooled and I did twice as much work as most public schools, held down a job where I was working 38 hours a week and my parents were both working full time, so I taught myself the lesson plans via videos, books, and research projects. Generalizations are no ones friends.
Half of my friends were homeschooled, and they're incredibly social. And most get real diplomas and have a graduation like everyone else. JUST went to one.
Your all dumb. They are do far from socially inept... I went to public school and my best friend was home school. Not only was he the smartest fucking kid I know, but he used to have crazy parties and is now going to berkley for music. You know home schooled kids also hve co op groups where they go learn like twice a week at other locations with other kids??? Now yes, there are homeschool kids who are strange, but 99% of them are perfectly normal.
My name was spelled wrong on mine :( and my mom rented a cap and gown from the costume shop... Good times. I'm only sorry I have so many younger siblings
Homeschool kids have a higher ACT/SAT score on average than public school kids. But that's worth less than knowing a bunch of shitty to be failures I guess.
I've been homeschooled my whole junior year and I don't have any less of a social life. If anything, I have more of one, considering I have more time to do what I want instead of sitting in classrooms for six hours a day, five days a week.
Like the public school zoos we have in America are any better? I think homeschooled kids are an untouched intellectual resource- wish I hadn't been put through the public/private school mentAl meat grinder. At least she probably doesn't have all the neuroses and paranoia we develop with all this groupthink.
Cfreymarc, you were clearly a homeschooled kid and brainwashed by your parents. Unlike you, us non-homeschooled kids have met OTHER kids who came to our school from being homeschooled. Adults try to tell us we're all the same, we learn they are socially inept from EXPERIENCE. so STFU
homeschooling was the greatest ever, I could start school at 8am and be done by noon. I slept a majority of my childhood and it was awesome... and college wasn't too hard to adapt to, I had enough of a social life during my highschool years of homeschooling to make it possible to enjoy my freshman year. Granted, there are some weird ass homeschool kids, but there's also some weird ass public schooled kids
Stereotypes that homeschooled kids are socially inept come from teachers unions trying to keepbthier jobs. The reality is homeschooled kids perfom better in live since they directly address society instead of worrying about inane things like prom, varsity sports, peer acceptance and class rank.
yet you don't know the difference between "live" and "life"\nbesides, the real world is a whole lot more like high school than your parents' living room
I find it quite amusing that high school and college kids stereotype homeschoolers as being sheltered and socially inept. To those who make these accusations: who’s your source? No doubt most of you either heard it from your teachers (the union, the formidable enemy of homeschooling) or from your peers (let’s make fun of people who are not like us). If you yourself have come across a homeschooler who is socially inept, then you’ve found an exception.
I'm pretty sure colleges aren't looking at how well you can "disseminate your knowledge to others" in your application. They look at your SAT/ACT scores for a reason, even if they don't count once you graduate college.
I am quite sure you’ll find their attitude toward homeschoolers is much more accepting and rational than yours.\n\nI graduated high school as a homeschooler, went to a real graduation ceremony with caps and gowns, and got my diploma. But, does it really matter if you have a piece of paper or a picture? No. Employers, adults, and colleges don’t care. So why do you?
Maybe a lot of the societal backlash against homeschooling is due to the fact that so many well-publicized cases of sociopaths with delusions of grandeur and/or quasi-religious motivations, who mention that they were homeschooled. Also, many of the well-publicized stories about mothers with borderline personality disorder or paranoid schizophrenia will homeschool their kids, which probably isn't good for their emotional health.
