It doesn't count as drinking alone if you're making rum cake with it.

I feel like this is a rule. A rule which applys to any alcohol you cook with.
One shot in the food, one shot in the chef.
alcohol evaporates at a low tempurature. you cook with it for taste because the alcohol never stays through baking.
you are correct bsmith...which is why one must sample the extra booze through out the cooking process.
First, and yea it does you alcoholic.
