• And, the difference would be? It's still a contract, unilateral or bilateral. The promise to give you the handle is predicated on the condition that you take home the ugly friend. The contract becomes binding when, and only when, you take home her ugly friend. At that point, the promise of a handle of vodka must be satisfied. Contract law, plain and simple.

• Oral contracts aren't worth the paper they are written on. That if because they are notoriously hard to enforce.
