I would agree that that's bogus if you don't frequently ask him to say nice things about you. But girls who constantly need their boyfriends to say nice things and ask them shit like "why do you like me? Tell me why you love me," are annoying.

Sounds like you're just fuck buddies. They don't have to tell you anything except when and where. If it was your boyfriend, then he's a jerk, but you shouldn't have to ask guys to tell you nice things. I'm a girl and even I think that's just annoying.
