My freshman algebra teacher did that and the girl that sat next to me actually filled it out and got a job. the next week she failed another test....she raised her hand and said " i dont need another one i already work there!" funniest moment of my life!! funniest part was we were in the honors class so we were expected to be smart!
that's funny, but insulting to people who actually work at mcdonald's... not all at them are stupid or failures at life, some are immigrants or people who had to drop out of school for legitimate reasons.
When someone makes a stupid mistake like not multiplying out a polynomial that Is squared my math teacher has a " math heart attack" ( his term) in which he screams then falls on the floor face up and shakes.
my teacher always started out saying, "i have good news and i have bad news. . . the good news is that mcdonald's is hiring. . .the bad news is that the entire class failed. good luck battling your schoolmates for the job of fry cook."
to 12.47 and all thsoe who think that math is irrelevant.. maths is the reason why we are able to post or read things on this site as well as why there are mobile phones and even microwaves in your homes(and yes those things all include cosines and sines and tangents and other theorems)! so as you can see it is useful in real life, but you dont even know it..
one, this teachers kind of a douche. give them a unemployment application or something no need to belittle people who only have the ability to work at a fast food place, there are hardworking people who have no other options past getting an average high school education or don't have money to pursue anything after high school. two, 11:47 why the fuck did you care if the people stayed in your class and failed, how do they effect you.
My English III teacher had the saying "Take your F and go in peace" when someone was acting stupid in class. No one did, they stayed 'til the end of the year to get their F, much to the chagrin of people who actually did the work, such as myself.
High school is good for a developing a general education so you have the potential to work in any area of profession. It still sucks though. College is better. Get to take the classes that will actually help in whatever you want to be.
south of philly, the county 911 center hands out mcdonald's applications when training begins, along with "the majority of you will NOT make it through this training class, so we thought we'd save you the trouble". and that is NOT fake, because my husband and several friends have all said the same thing hahahaha.
Haa what an awesome teacher!! Algebra and geometry were always my favorite subjects, I had the worst algebra teacher, she never gave anyone individualized attention like this
My Jr High geography teacher used to say, in his gravelly voice, to this idiot in our class, "Gabe, why don't you go home and watch Oprah." Every Friday he would wear his country line dancin finest. We are talking boots, levis 501s that looked fresh off the factory line starched and pressed, and a button down shirt that was basically a Texas flag. Gotta love 7th grade!
My English teacher was the same way. If we ever got anything wrong, she'd always say there were lots of job openings at Burger King. And if we only got a C, we could, MAYBE, work at a really nice Burger King.
My old 5th grade teacher used to tell his class that "in 15 years I'm gonna walk into Burger King, see you flipping burgers and tell you I TOLD YOU SO!". Well it's been over 15 years and I'd love to take him out with my $400 Coach bought from my Accounting paycheck!! What douche bags!!
Yeah my AP physics teacher also does that and he gives extra credit if you bring in applications or take a picture of someone applying at burger king. He's a douche bag but an awesome one at that
